SYMPATICO SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP (SIG)

Who is this group for?

This group focuses on issues relating to the interaction between culture, language, health and wellbeing and is coordinated by Sympatico Research Group. Group membership is open to speech pathologists and speech pathology students but we also welcome other professionals from related disciplines (e.g., linguistics, education, health) who share an interest in this area. The group is based in Australia and therefore meeting times may be most favourable for people in this region of the world; however, international speakers and guests are also welcome.

What is the meeting format?

Group meetings will take place online via Zoom and may involve presentations from invited speakers or guided discussion of set reading/s. Meetings will be scheduled based around speaker availability. We will circulate information about meetings via our mailing list and you can register for any meetings that are of interest to you. Please note that some topics may require completion of pre-meeting tasks (e.g., reading an article).
