The material provided on this website is offered as general and helpful information to health professionals and other interested persons and is supported by evidence. It is not intended to replace clinical advice or to provide comprehensive information or strategies that a speech pathologist or related health professional might provide.  

Resources and Access

Our information and resources are supplied in an online environment, unless otherwise stated, and are available for viewing online and in some cases for download.  The content of our materials, including copyright, remain the property of Sympatico Research Group. Where a creative commons licence exists on materials, you must follow the requirements of the copyright licence.  Materials and content are subject to change. 

Confidentiality and Privacy 

When you sign up to become a member of the Sympatico Research Group website (needed to download the resources), your email address will be stored in a secure third-party database. You can request to have your email address deleted from this database at any time by contacting the website administrators.  When you sign up, you will also create a password. By voluntarily providing us with your personal data, you are consenting to our use of it in accordance with this privacy statement and consent.  As with most websites, non-identifying statistical information collected could include your server address, the top level domain name (such as .gov, .com, .edu) pages accessed or downloaded, search terms used, the date and time of site visits, your operating system (such as Windows) or browser system (such as Google Chrome), and the site from which you entered the website or to which you exited. No information that personally identifies you is collected when you simply browse the site.  Any information collected is used solely for internal purposes and is never sold to outside agencies, we do not collect or use this information for commercial marketing. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing your requests. 

Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of data that we send to your computer when you browse the site (unless you set your browser to reject cookies). If you decide to come back and visit the site in the future, the data stored in the cookie can be retrieved by the website to notify us about specific preferences you indicated while browsing the first time. There are no personal details involved and a cookie cannot be tracked back to you as an individual or to your computer.  In some cases, websites use browser cookies to maintain session and preference information, or provide other complex functionality.
